Back pain in Cluj: recovery programme
Has your back hurt for years, and massage only lasts a day or two?
Pain is only an EFFECT. I look for the CAUSE: I test which muscles aren't working and why, then we work with P-DTR and kinetotherapy, in a programme.

What back pain that keeps coming back looks like
- “Stiffness” in the morning or after sitting a long time at your desk.
- A dull ache or tension between the shoulder blades or in the lower back, that doesn't go away with rest.
- Massage or anti-inflammatories help for a few days, then the pain comes back.
- Flare-ups that “lock” you up every few months.
- You avoid bending over or lifting something, for fear your back will “give out”.
The programme is also for old disc herniations, disc tears and wear-and-tear changes in the spine, like spinal osteoarthritis.
Why back pain comes back
“Yesterday's massage isn't really helping anymore, the muscle tension comes back. The result doesn't last more than a day or two.”
“When you go to the mechanic because a light has come on in the dashboard, the mechanic checks the car to find the real problem. The mechanic doesn't change the dashboard bulb.”
“The muscle is just a light bulb.”
Meaning the tense muscle is the place where the problem shows. Massage works on the bulb.
Okay, but where is the fault?
The central nervous system uses muscles like tools. It decides which ones work and which ones rest. And what makes it decide is trauma: a sprain, a fall, an accident, an operation. It doesn't matter if it was 5, 15 or 30 years ago.
The body remembers the place that got hurt and wants to protect it. So it “switches off” some muscles.
Meaning they no longer work the way they should, and others do their job on top of their own. The back ends up carrying their share too. That's where the tension that doesn't go away with rest comes from.
Your back isn't weak, it's SWITCHED OFF
“Strengthen your back” is the worst advice you've ever been given.
I know, because I followed it. I trained like a bull, I had muscles of iron, and every 6 months my body locked up completely.
My back wasn't “weak”. It was “SWITCHED OFF”.
Meaning the muscles were there, they just weren't getting the signal to work on time. However much I trained them, the signal stayed the same.
The pain went away when someone looked for the cause. For almost 10 years my back hasn't hurt at all.
I'm not against strengthening. I'm against strengthening without testing. If the muscle is weak, you strengthen it. If it's tense, you relax it.
What the recovery programme looks like
Biomechanical assessment
About an hour. You tell me what hurts, when it hurts, since when. And what other pain you've had over the years. That's where the gold is.
I test
The big muscles that link the lower body to the upper body. Which ones are weak, which ones are normal, which ones are tense.
I test. I do NOT guess.
P-DTR
I treat the places your body is still protecting, even if you forgot about them long ago. Then I retest on the spot, so you see what changed.
Kinetotherapy
In the kinetotherapy sessions I watch you move. I find out where it hurts, when it hurts, which movement doesn't work. At the next P-DTR session I treat exactly what I found there.
Therapy without kinetotherapy is therapy by guesswork. Kinetotherapy without therapy treats the dashboard bulb.
How long it takes
A programme lasts about a month and a half to two months. Nothing is rushed.
At around two months we retest. So you see the progress and I know what to change.
In some situations two or three programmes are needed, meaning about a year.
I can't tell you in advance whether a programme will solve the situation fully or only partly. That's why we test and retest.
What people say (reviews translated from Romanian)
“For more than 5 years I had been dealing with back pain almost constantly. Every few months I had sciatica flare-ups with terrible pain. […] After the assessment, I got answers, and for the first time I found out the real cause of my pain. […] I wrote this review 3 months after finishing the treatment and I haven't had any pain at all since.”
“After almost 3 months my back pain has gone down considerably.”
I don't promise anyone the same result. It depends on the situation. That's why we test.
What it costs
-
The first step: the biomechanical assessment 200 RON
About an hour. This is where we find out where your pain starts. The assessment is paid separately from the programme.
-
Essential Programme 3.000 RON
4 P-DTR sessions and 6 kinetotherapy sessions.
-
Extended Programme 4.500 RON
6 P-DTR sessions, 10 kinetotherapy sessions and weekly check-ins. It can be paid in two instalments of 2.250 RON.
-
Intensive Recovery 8.100 RON
10 P-DTR sessions, 20 kinetotherapy sessions, a 3-month nutrition plan and monitoring. 2.700 RON per month, for 3 months.
We choose the programme together, after the assessment. I guide you and suggest options, and you choose.
We don't work with the Romanian public health insurance (CNAS), so referral notes can't be used here.
Contraindications
We don't start the programme if you have:
- severe destruction of the vertebrae.
- a recent spinal injury.
- pain that gets worse when walking.
- pain caused by stress and nervous tension.
Questions about back pain
I had an MRI and nothing serious showed up. Why does it hurt?
The MRI shows what your spine looks like. The assessment shows how your muscles are working right now. They're two different things and both matter.
Does massage really not help?
It helps for a few days, because it works on the bulb. And on a muscle that's already weak, massage and the massage gun can do more harm than good.
I sit at a desk a lot. Is that the cause?
Sitting loads the back. But if the chair alone were the cause, everyone who works at a desk would be in pain. Why it hurts for you, we find out at the assessment.
Can I try just one session?
You can, there's a single P-DTR session too, at 600 RON. But one session on its own can't know everything that needs treating. That's why I work in programmes.
I live in another city. Is it worth the trip?
People have come from Reghin, Târgu Mureș, Sibiu and Oradea. The harder something is to get, the more you want it.
